I PARCHI LETTERARI "IN THE DIMENSION OF THE JOURNEY" - "IN THE DIMENSION OF THE JOURNEY"

Sicily is a territory that has always been visited throughout the centuries, if for nothing more than its position as a crossroads of the Mediterranean. Between the 1700s and 1800s it was a place of special fascination in the collective imagination of its visitors... “in the Dimension of the Journey”.
All of Sicily and the Province of Agrigento in particular have served as a fertile shore for writers, poets, painters and scholars who have visited these places and left us pages filled with suggestive images, rendering immortal the sense of classicism. And no journey to Sicily could be considered complete without a visit to the territory of Agrigento and the extraordinary Valley of the Temples... which leaves visitors amazed.

The great Sicilian authors were also inspired by this experience, who nurtured themselves with this great cultural journey through space and time.
Sicily is the territory that has given Italy, especially in the final centuries of the first millennium, the greatest number of authors who, throughout a number of eras and with a variety of methods and inspired by these extraordinary places, have sung the praises of this island located in the centre of the Mediterranean.

So many authors have been inspired by Agrigento and its provincial territories, from the time of the ancient classics to the present day that it is truly impossible to mention them all, but we would like to provide a brief overview, starting with the travellers of the Grand Tour, who pushed forward to these places, taking inspiration from the beauty of the area… in order to understand what brought them here.
