I PARCHI LETTERARI® IN CALABRIA “JOURNEYS TO THE FUTURE
OF MEMORY” - I PARCHI LETTERARI IN SILA: SMALL SILA
Small Sila
makes up the southern portion of Sila’s Plateau. This is
a suggestive area that is located in one of the area’s
most uncontaminated river valleys, with the Soleo
Torrent, the Tacina River and the Crocchio, featuring
large pastures and luxuriant vegetation.
The splendid coasts of
Catanzaro’s Ionian Sea, home to the legendary “gardens
of Hesperides”, which were included in the myth’s
ancient geography and later celebrated by foreign
travellers and writers such as the Englishman George R.
Gissing (1897), contiguously wind along the vast and
wooded areas featuring extraordinary environmental
interest and fauna, and moreover are full of a variety
of archaeological and historic-artistic importance.
